"We've Got You" music video trilogy
I'm thrilled to present the full trilogy of music videos for "We've Got You" - including the crowdsourced finale!
I gave a kind of impossible task to my collaborators: "We've Got You (Two Truths)" is actually two different songs that I wrote to be played at the same time. Each of those two songs has its own video: "Spark" is stop-motion animation, by Andrew Benincasa, and "Comfort" is live action, by Steve Milligan. "Two Truths" is the intercut and extension of the two, where it’s revealed how the two songs and the two videos relate to each other.
The lyrics of the song are about interdependence. So we wanted a video that felt like two different worlds connecting in unexpected ways.
More on the making of the trilogy, and my thoughts on making music videos more generally, at V13 Media.
To celebrate, I'm also hosting "micro-workshops" on the theme of Two Truths: naming things we feel pulled in two directions about, and trying on ideas for how to weave them into a way forward. These sessions will run about 30 minutes, and we'll use the songs & video imagery to walk through our reflections. See the Tour page for details.
