Excerpt from Official Press Release:
You can help! + Backstage V.I.P. benefits!
This spring, on the "Green Caravan Tour" Vienna will be headlining shows across the country. But that's just part of what she and the band will be up to. Also on the itinerary: working with Habitat For Humanity on days off, reducing the tour's environmental impact on the road and backstage, and donating part of merchandise proceeds to nonprofits.
You're invited to contribute—whether it's volunteering at your local Habitat (and getting concert perks for it!), helping choose an environmental group to receive merch profits, learning more about climate change and poverty issues, or all of the above. Volunteers can visit http://viennateng.com/greencaravan and download a "proof of participation" form that grants backstage access and other V.I.P. benefits at shows.

Short bio:
Not so long ago, being a singer-songwriter was merely a hobby for VIENNA TENG, a Stanford computer science grad who was on the fast track to a lucrative career, working as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. She gave all that up to pursue her musical passions—a risky career move, but one that has paid off. The 27-year-old had already released two critically acclaimed independent albums: 2002's Waking Hour and 2004's Warm Strangers, which landed on three Billboard album charts and reached #2 on Amazon's best-seller list, before signing with the Rounder/Zoë label. At Rounder/Zoë, she collaborated with legendary producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Madeleine Peyroux) on her third Album, "Dreaming Through the Noise." She's appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and toured widely, opening for such artists as Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Marc Cohn, Patty Griffin, Joan Baez and The Indigo Girls.
"People used to ask what kind of music I played and I never knew how to answer that," says pianist Teng. "I work a lot with classically trained musicians, but most of my influences are from 1970's-era folk music. So now I call it chamber folk."
