Originally cut from Inland Territory, Vienna just released it to her mailing list as a New Year present. It's a really good song, and I feel like a secret agent listening to it.

The music also reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, but that's just me being a nerd.

In any case, DISCUSS.

I like it. I've only heard it the once, so it hasn't grown on me yet, but I like it.

Did anyone else notice the ID3 tag that said "Antebellum EP [master ref]?" Wonder if and when that will be released...

It could quite possibly be what Inland Territory was before the album was named as such.

It's possible, but an EP usually refers to a shorter album - usually no more than 5 songs. I don't remember if Vienna talked about putting out an EP first. Wasn't there something about two different EPs that eventually became Inland Territory?

Pay no attention to the Antebellum EP... that didn't happen.

If it HAD happened, it might have included the following songs:
Stray Italian Greyhound
Augustine
Kansas
Antebellum
House

You can see hint of that in the famous "Sorority Serenades" version.

There were two other EPs that didn't happen too. Watershed and The Olive Tree.

OMG! I was just gonna post about that! It reminds me of either the Zora's Domain theme or the Fairy Fountain theme. LOL!

...So will we maybe be getting "Olive Tree" for Independence Day or something? Maybe? *conspiratorial grin*

I'm sad because I didn't get the e-mail! I've gotten her last mailing list e-mails... :(

You're still subbed to the list, so it didn't bounce. Did it land in a spam box?

I checked...nope. Thanks for letting me know I'm still on the list though. :D Well, I went and registered again last night and it let me...so maybe I wasn't on the list for some reason? At least since I got the Thanksgiving message?

The one line in here that hits me most is "every hour of the day is spoken for". Apart from the rest of the song, that's what it feels like being an involved college student sometimes...

Now that you mention it...I'd say it sounds like the background of the dungeon theme, especially at 0:12!

It also reminds me of the beginning of "Daughter", though probably no relation there?

Oops. Was sleepy earlier, and didn't check to see if you had resubbed.

We had a lot of bounces in November, so if anyone else didn't get the message from last night, please resub!

a simply beautiful song, that "house." i'm very glad it wanted to be sent. it does remind me of something enchanting and mysterious, if not from the legend of zelda, heh heh...will we one day see vienna composing video game music? who knows...

Well, throughout the years, I've noticed a common theme in all the Zelda music. Throughout the first three dungeons, the music is always similar.

I really want Vienna to see this discussion. LURK, VIENNA. LURK LIKE THE WIND.

Beautiful piece... begging the question, why leave it off? I seem to recall that there would be enough for this song? Sure there's much more to it than just the amount of time on the CD...

Regardless, Vienna, thank you for charing.

Have a great new year, and safe travels to Hawaii and Europe!
