Vienna was a bargain. Second, they were really adamant about no cameras. Sigh, I just like to take a souvenir photo or two. Other than that, it's a great place to see a show on Long Island.
The Bolton Center in Bayshore is nice as well, and much more reasonably priced. I'm still in mourning over the demise of the IMAC, though.

You're right. Richard Thompson/Loudon Wainwright is costing me TWICE as much per ticket as Vienna did. And for Vienna's show I was in the front row literally right in front of her piano bench, while on Saturday I'm in the 2nd row of the balcony. (Both are top price; almost the whole theater is top price.) And to magnify the effect, I went to Vienna's show solo, but my wife and daughter are coming along on Saturday.
I've been meaning to check out Boulton; just waiting for the right show at a good time. Just missed Marshall Crenshaw there, iirc, because of my work schedule. That would have been nice. I *might* try to catch him at Tarrytown in Nov, opening for Mavis Staples. (But probably not. Tarrytown seems a long way away on a weeknight. We are so spoiled in the NY area compared to these hardy midwesterners who seem to travel hours for most of their shows.)
My first and last show at IMAC was last November; Richard Shindell and Ollabelle, performing merged. Good, unusual show. It seemed like a friendly, funky place. I liked the proprietors' dog hanging out in the bar lobby. Too bad it folded. If you like a good dinner before a show (who doesn't?), Huntington is a great restaurant town.
