Jane Siberry has dominated my aural landscape for the past 15 years... until Vienna Teng came along that is. Hers is the voice I will hear at the gates of heaven. Jane is so innovative, interesting and complex that you never get tired of her. Beautiful voice, great writing...lots of visual imagery and humor. You never know what she's going to do next. Her albums are very different from one another and each is fascinating in its own way especially the later ones.
The Walking and When I Was a Boy are the funkiest and two of my most favorite albums of all time. Child and Shushan are my favorite holiday albums of all time. If you like jazzy sounds, Maria is very interesting...and the 20 minute song, Oh My My , on that album is awesome. Jane is working on Lily right now. Look out for a song called In My Dream, a beautiful song about family disfunction. Sorry for all the superlatives...she's just that great and like Vienna, she's truly unique.
