Hi Vienna,
First of all, thanks so much for continuing to share your talent
with us in soooo many ways. I am (as I believe are many of us) much
appreciative.
Second, to answer the Walking Stranger - they are already there (at least in the form posted here). So please let me know, Vienna, if they shouldn't be! :>
Now, some questions:!
1) Do you have enough socks yet?
2) This has been another big year for you - tours, DVDs, lost notebooks,
the big move, .... How's it all look to you in retrospect? You're roughly
half-way through along your previous 11-year plan - how do you see it
proceeding at this point? Where do you want to be, professionally (and not
geographically) in say another 5 years?
3) And the one everyone's wanting to know - when are you coming to Hawaii? :>
And since it's only fair. Here are my answers:
1) Yeah, but many probably should be thrown out at this point, so I guess I
could use a few more pairs.
2) Interesting question, Vienna. I'm discovering that astronomical
projects are a lot more fun than astronomical institutions, so my 5-10-year
plan would be to be leading some new astronomical project (preferably
somewhere here in Hawaii, since I still love it here). On the other hand,
the Director of my new place seems to understand this and is working to
instill a more project-like atmosphere in this institution. I therefore
hope to learn from his efforts and play a bigger part of it. Bringing the
project to the institution sounds like a fun place to be, too! I also want to
discover some more totally cool things and write lots of wonderful papers!
3) What? I'm already here!
Thanks again, Vienna!
