Well, if I dare to compare, she is a kind of female version of Alex Wong in her way of being a kind of Multitaskwoman ...

I personnaly appreciate her song "Innocence".

For her debut album "Near the sun" Julie Peel will start her gigs this year 2009 :
- March 31st : Bar 2 st laurent in Montréal, CANADA
- April 8th : Arlene's Grocery in New York, USA

BTW, the trees in her show poster remind me of Amber Rubarth's sculpture with leopards... but with Julie Peel's letters as branches instead of leopards...who knows this girl might have WILLLLLD power in her too ?!?!?!... LOL

I think I’ll be staying 2 extra days in NY. I’ve been invited to see Vienna Teng/Paper Raincoat’s gig on the 10th at Le poisson rouge. You have to come too!!

In French there is a saying : "Les grands esprits se rencontrent", which originates from Voltaire when he wrote in ”Dictionnaire philosophique” 1764, in the article “Bacchus” : "les beaux esprits se rencontrent" (word by word translation = great/beautiful minds meet).

EDIT : here again a proof I don't master English as well as I wish ... and more neither German... and that pea-size-brain-of-me-far-from-being-a-living-French-encyclopedia was trying - awkwardly - to translate what I feel - l did not mean "I feel pity for her", but I mean I was sorry to learn that the gig in Bar4 was canceled....
So sometimes, I know, I should check out vocabulary on the internet (frequence of a word in google or Webster-like page) or my old hand-size-English-dictionary before writing down any French-English-German sentences or at least understandable flow of words ... like my pea-size-brain undecided to choose to write canceLLED or canceLED ...
Well, I start to consider music for what it is itself before even starting to understand lyrics as you watch trees that are outside, behind your windows and you just contemplate, even sometimes when being in a park or forest, you have no clue of what this or that tree is named ... well, I understand myself...
