Photo Shoot with Vienna!

This past weekend I did a photo shoot with Vienna! I had asked her to do this way back in December of 2005 after a performance at the Independent, and though she had said yes then, she didn't have much time for it until now. Before we get to the photos, watch this video for an intro and a surprise for Vienna:

Yes, some shots have cut-off appendages and trees growing out of Vienna's head (oops!), but I still liked them, so they're included. Thank you so much, Vienna, for making the time to do this, for looking and being absolutely gorgeous and elegant, for posing easily and well, and for persevering through a soggy park, a bit of hunger, and some cold weather. I had a wonderful time shooting with you, yakking with you, and grabbing a burger with you.

I have more notes on the shoot, but let me slap this post up and finish them later.

I love the one of her leaning her head against the brick wall thing. Excellent, excellent photos! And that hat is too cute. I want to, like, wallpaper my desktop with these photos. XD

ETA: Speaking of which, if I did make Vienna desktop wallpaper with these pictures, would I have your permission to distribute them, or should I just keep them to myself? o_o;; Because I think that these pictures could really lend themselves well to a collage-y/montage-y type thing with lots of unintelligible snippets of Vienna's lyrics here and there, haha.

Reileen, I saw that hat in this post (and commented that it looked cute), so I asked Vienna to bring it along. When she first pulled it out, I was surprised by the deep and bold color, since it looked faded in the post's photo. Re: Distributing desktop wallpaper. Sure, go ahead. If you can give me credit, with a mention of my website (http://www.pbase.com/klaorman), that would be awesome, but if you think that detracts from the wallpaper, then forget about it. Or you can credit me next to the download link for the wallpaper.

Note to Zoe/Rounder - consider re-releasing DTTN with this photo on the cover.

In any case, it's a sure bet that any of these photos would be killer album cover candidates.

Y'know, I can't help but notice something. I've done a little bit of portrait photography. Not as much as Klaorman or Mr. Cheng, but some. If you do enough portraits, you begin to take note of people's facial features, for better or worse.

With that in mind - doesn't Vienna have the most exquisitely perfect nose you have ever seen?

In terms of actually making the wallpaper, perhaps an hour at most, if I'm experimenting with layers and effects and whatever and can't get anything to look right. In terms of actually getting around to make the wallpaper...well...

Tanthalas, thanks for the heads-up on the resolution size you wanted. I wasn't sure what sizes I should do - I'm planning on 800 x 600, 1024 x 720, 1280 x 800 (which is my resolution), and I'll add 1900 x 1200. I'll try to make sure that all the wallpapers I do will be available for all sizes, but we shall see .
