National Theatre of China, newly built in the center of Beijing

or the Great Hall of the People, where Sarah Brightman, Norah Jones and Patricia Kaas have individually given concerts

although i can't yet afford to see it if it comes in one or two years, hehe

they should know that Vienna is not only a musician but a philosopher, a complete citizen this society actually needs
Vienna's volunteer agent on midomi.com

What about the Vienna Restaurant in the Guangzhou Phoenix City hotel in Guangzhou, China

Image

It's a joke really, hence the name of the room and because the hotel's owner is the 26 year old Yang Huiyan, Worlds youngest/richest female billionaire (worth about 16,2 billion).

Hmm... I don't know if I would want to play in China being Vienna...

China is a rather intimidating place.. It's somewhere where I'd rather be with my mother and my grandmother at the same time; they're so fierce that nobody would want to accost us in the streets!

Palau de la musica, Barcelona

Postby Scot » Fri Jul 18, 2008 9:42 pm

Vienna needs to play here:
The Palau de la Musica - Barcelona, Spain.

Got a tour of this place, and heard the pipe organ, although no real concert
and it is an amazing place. Vienna HAS to add it on her next tour.

Here's a fan site that has a nice description and outside pictures:
http://www.galenfrysinger.com/barcelona_palau_dela_musica.htm

You can't take pictures of the inside, but it's FABULOUS! There are half
paintings/half statues of people playing all kinds of instruments on the stage
that seem they're just about to come completely come out of the wall and
start playing/dancing on stage. There's a beautiful inverted stain glass
dome in the center of the hall which gives off fantastic ambient daytime
light. The hall seats 2000 or so, but it looks like a small, quiet, cozy
venue from inside.

Here's an image I found online of the inteiror:

At the very least, if you ever go to Barcelona, check it out! It wasn't an
obvious place to go for me, but it was very worthwhile!

My little attempt at a Vienna Teng WWW page (Set lists, song info., and more...)

Don't know if this has been said/played already, but the downstairs lounge in Odd Bar in the Northern Quarter of Manchester always brings to mind the perfect atmosphere for DTTN, and several earlier songs, in my head...
and breathe my breath
just to share the air
that I have known
and to learn
who it is that you see
whose eyes fall half-shut before you
in silence

Please have a session in Columbia, South Carolina. You have a small following here.

(Hint: The Starbucks in the Russel House at the University of South Carolina would be ideal!)

My living room would be nice. Really. :P We do have quite a bit of house space. xD

But in all seriousness, I think it'd be awesome to see Vienna at the Oriental Theater or the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO. I think they'd both be well suited for one of her shows (the Oriental more so than the Cervantes), and they're in Denver. How much better can you get? :P
The rain'll be gone in the morning,
But I'll still be here in the morning

Hope Vienna and her team can try to get venues around Pasadena, CA. It's a pretty big art/theatre/music mecca here, and there are plenty of cafes where Vienna could play! I'll update with specific sites, but I really do believe that there'd be a very good turnout were Vienna to play in Pasadena. :)

Edit: Oh, The Aura Nightclub in Studio City, CA may be another feasible venue. It's usually a bar/dance club, but it was the perfect place for my friends to host a charity event for Los Angeles' Children's Hospital back in December. We had a Night of Comedy for Charity, and Aura agreed to give 100% of proceeds ($10 admission fee) and 10% of $ from drinks to the charity. There was a great stage, good seating booths, food. We made well over $1500 that night. I know that Vienna also plays for good causes and charities. Why not check it out? http://www.auranightclub.com.

Twin Cities Metro, Minnesota

Postby pockafwye » Tue Apr 07, 2009 5:07 pm

I have mobility issues that keep me from making the trip to Chicago... I'd love to see Vienna in the Twin Cities Metro - Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Some good venues:
Fine Line Music Cafe
First Avenue and the 7th Street Entry (aka First Avenue)
or, believe it or not, during the warmer months, the Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater hosts some great artists in their outdoor venue.

edit: Well, duh... I forgot one of the best venues in these parts... The historic Fitzgerald Theater. It's a "two-balcony dramatic house", famous outside Minnesota as the home of Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion.

The Fitz, being owned by Minnesota Public Radio - which also runs the indie music channel in town, The Current (89.3 FM) - has the advantage that the shows there tend to draw fans with excellent taste in music (IMHO).

And, it's pretty to look at, to boot. There are some cool photos of the Fitz on flickr (alas, none of them mine)

For other Minneapolis/St. Paul residents:

The Minnesota zoo puts on a series of summer concerts. Sue McLean is the promoter who lines up acts for those concerts. If you want to see Vienna at one of those concerts, go to the following website, click on "Ask Sue," and suggest Vienna.

<a>http://www.suemclean.com/frames.html</a>

I already e-mailed Rick Cady, who is one of Vienna's booking agents. It turns out that Rick's home town is Minneapolis, and he's friends with Sue McLean. He suggested I contact her to suggest Vienna so that she hears about Vienna from more than one source. Let's make sure she hears about Vienna from all of her fans in the Minneaplis/St. Paul area.

I tried following your link, but it's broken. I'll send a direct email instead. Thanks for the tip. Sorry I missed it before posting above.

I suggest playing at the Providence Performing Arts Center. It's a very beautiful place and it's also in my home town so it's an easier drive.

Toronto! Anywhere in Toronto. Anywhere in Ontario, Canada, for that matter. Pretty please? I'm afraid I'm not very fluent with these sorts of things, however, to be able to give a specific venue. I would be so happy if she came to Ontario.
