I think Vienna should visit Cisco in RTP

I think, if Vienna has the time, she should make a publicity stop at Cisco RTP. The human interest story about an extraordinarliy talented musician, obviously destined for stardom, rising out of the high-tech collapse is a wonderful inspiration for those whose lives are still impacted. I'm sure the local media would be interested in running such an up-beat story. I can get her people in touch with Cisco people easily who can potentially set this up very professionally. Afterall, Vienna, is an ex-Cisco employees o they should agree as well.

Am I being stupid just because I'd like to meet her? What do others think of this idea?

Thanks,

Bob

Does Cisco have a hall?

Maybe Alan and I can play the show, too. That way, all of the musicians would be software types. ;)

So you know her pretty well - what do you think? Would she enjoy a visit to Cisco RTP? Or would she just rather get some well deserved rest that afternoon?

By the way, love the Beethoven Trio. You're an outstanding musician. One of my daughters (15) is in a Quartet for 2 years now studying with Jose Bastardes at UNC/CH. We also have one of them silly bengal cats - his name is Smoky-Joe and he was a stray.

Thanks for the compliment!

Have you sent her e-mail? If it's in an area where she doesn't know anyone, I'll bet that she might be up for visiting. But who knows. :) Where is RTP? What is it? Is it at the main campus?

Hey! Look at the caption to this image:

I wonder if the poster was a Vienna fan.

I haven't sent email. Didn't even think of it actually. Can't hurt I suppose.

RTP is Research Triangle Park, NC. The triangle is formed by 3 cities - Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. It's basically an entire township zoned just for R&D. Cisco east coast HQ is here. There's about 2000 employees and 9 buildings. 5 or 6 additional buildings are sitting empty (bubble burst collateral damage).

I know a few people who worked on project Abeline. It's a consortium of formerly high-flying tech firms looking to reinvent the Internet or Internet2. Vienna fans? More like Karate Kid fans.

I guess I'll send Vienna an email. Mind if I tell her you suggested?

Interesting - the system logged me out and I didn't know it.
