Happy album release day (on the east coast)! If you didn't pre-order, you can download the album from iTunes or amazon shortly. It has been a long wait, but I really think Alex sounds like Alex on this release. There's quite a range of sonic styles to hear and cozy up to on this album, and there's even more to discover when comparing them to the live versions.

Also want to sneak in one more tour date from his message for the people who pre-ordered: July 30 at 8:00 pm 12th and Porter Nashville, TN

Yay, another setlist! Hope you liked the show and the album, Fred.

I have other setlists from the May California shows to post, didn't do that previously since the album tracklist wasn't out yet...here's San Francisco:

Always Something Better
Brooklyn Blurs
Twenty Faces
Same Old Things
Patiently
The Fighter
Never Look Back
Oceanside (with Megan Slankard)
Are You Listening

In The Creases
Don't Be Afraid
A Girl Like You (with Devon from The Animators carrying his daughter)
Fake Plastic Trees (tease)
Make It Home

I was on a plane flying home while this show was going on and couldn't get an earlier flight, so I'm very grateful to rainingvodka for enabling me to experience it time-shifted. I did make it to the Los Angeles show afterward, but my setlist is at home, so I'll post it later. I also hope to post some vids from that show at some point.

I'm posting now, instead of with the LA setlist later, since Alex has a radio interview later today. Listen online to WGMU at 8pm Eastern/5 Pacific.

Sorry - I didn't keep a setlist at the July 28 house concert in Hendersonville, NC. I was enjoying the music too much to think about it! They (Alex, Ximena and Kevin) started with "Brooklyn Blurs", and played much of the new disc as well as "In The Creases", "Make It Home" and "Here We Are" and perhaps some others.

"Here We Are" was fun, because Alex said he had pretty much wiped the entire "A Song in a Day" day from his memory when they were done. But the person who hosted the house concert requested it, so the three of them went to YouTube to remember it and wrote down the lyrics to sing from. It came off well, even so, and he said they'd probably start playing it again.

The strangest thing for me was being the only one in the audience (including the hosts) who had ever seen Alex before, and although I haven't seen Ximena, I do have some of her music in my online song rotation as I'm a Mexican Pop fan, as well. And I guess it was a triple play, as far as being familiar with the musicians, as Kevn mentioned he'd been the drummer the night before in Oregon for a group in front of thousands of screaming girls, but he didn't mention which group. I checked later, and it ws the girl who plays iCarly on the Disney Channel. If you've been around tween/teen girls the past few years, you know her. I know of a couple, and they're much more jealous of my seeing him than either Alex or Ximena, even if he isn't on the show!

Another thing that was different about this concert, other than the amazing potluck dinner with everybody before and dessert halfway through, was that the host wanted it to be something of a production workshop, too, so they were answering questions between every song. Alex said he would probably get mixed up at the Atlanta concert the next night and end some songs with, "Any Questions?"!

Yay! I will have to remember to request that one in September. I also want to hear "We Will Surrender" as it seems to be the only one he hasn't played live yet, but I'm guessing it's tricky to pull off.

Heh. So glad you could go, and that the host could get a bunch of newbies to go. Speaking of NC audience, I also need to give a shoutout to wolding, who was in chat for the Passim webcast.

Superduperfan in the house! I saw Kevin's posts about Portland, and now I can't believe he flew back to get back on Alex's tour. I hadn't looked at her schedule, but figured he was staying on for her. That's awesome for Miranda Cosgrove fans to keep track of her touring bandmates, and bodes well for the next generation. ;)

I would like to hear Alex cover this song by Lee Hazlewood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNoZzQySiCQ&feature=related I think he would do a great version of this one. This is an incredibly well written song. Very powerful.

Thanks for the setlist! Looks like it was a great show. Would have loved to hear Alex's solo versions of the Animators songs.
