Okay, I take back what I said about it being melancholic. Yes, it is quite an uplifting, hopeful piece. I also agree that it's very cinematic and one of the most visceral pieces on (all) the album(s).

Another fact: In one of the Archive.org recordings, Vienna says that British band, Talk Talk, inspired her to write this song. She was particularly enraptured by their albums Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, which she "was obsessed with" for some time.

Roofboy - Starts in the key of B and moves to A, eh? Hmm, I shall attempt to play a very simplified version of this, haha...

It actually doesn't. I lied :P It starts on a weird chord that confused me! The piano kind of starts with an A chord on the left hand and a D chord on the right, with lots of little things throw in there. It's fantastically weird! If you want me to, i can try and get the chords down (I have them in my head, it's just a matter of writing them down.) And send them your way, or post them on a website or something.

That'd be great, as long as Dbeattie and Vienna don't mind you sharing! I would think that it's okay, since these aren't the official notations...? Please PM me when you have them down-- no rush! I have the chord progression in my head, as well, but am not exactly sure of which chords and inversions, heehee.

I've also played around with Kansas on my guitar using the Am F C G progression, but I think it sounds too...um...happy. I'm missing something.
