...can be found here on my LJ. 8) You can either respond there (I have anonymous commenting turned on) or here, although I'm really preaching to the choir here.

First review of I.T.

Real nice job of reviewing the new CD, Reileen. I have to agree with your comments about "Augustine". When I listened to that song, I felt the vigor and punch that I experienced in "Harbor". It'd be nice to get your review, as well as other forum members' reviews up at Amazon and other sites and blogs, to provide some guidance to those considering purchasing Inland Territory.

Good review, Reileen. Thoughtful and perceptive. Much better than mine, which can be read in its entirety on Twitter:

Got my copy of Inland Territory. For six years, I've known Vienna is a genius. Yet I'm still astonished by the depth of her genius.

Since it is not available here in the U.S. just yet I was hoping everyone would hold off on the reviews. I want to be suprised when I get the album. I don't want to hear any of the songs in advance or opinions on it in advance. I then shall post here later once I have purchased the album and have listened to it several times. I kind of think of the album like a birthday cake and I don't wish to eat it before my birthday because it would take the suspense out of the process. That's just me though. I choose to wait. It will be even more suspenseful than waiting for a scrapbook post.

After seeing the Caffe Vivaldi shows, I decided I couldn't wait, because I wanted to hear how the album was different from the live performance. I ordered it from Germany last week, and here it is in my mailbox already. I haven't finished listening to it just yet, but then my commute is only 15 minutes long. So far it feels really different from the other albums, and very different from the live shows, but I think I should hold back until I've had a chance to listen to it a few times in its entirety.

I felt this way too, but I caved and listened to the leak yesterday. (I hadn't been aware that the entire album had been available for listening before that - to me, the important thing was hearing the album from end to end and not having any surprises spoiled ahead of time, not necessarily waiting for the US release date. Though I will still rush out to buy it on April 7.)

Anyway, there's a difference between choosing not to read/search for any information on the album, and asking others not to talk about it. I went for the former because I know I can't really control the latter.
