And I just can´t get "Transcontinental 1.30 am" out of my head *gg* and it´s one of the songs which doesn´t exceed my vocal compass (?) so I don´t have to squeak while singing  oh, and I can sing it in public without having to be aware of anybody noticing it. ;)

Being a long time taper, I only sing along in my head, so that's not a problem. It's when I slowly rock along to the music (in my head) that I think I give most people concern.

You write fanfiction! That's awesome! I like to read those kinds of things every now and then and took my hand at writing some many years ago, lol. By any chance, are you into Anime? If you are, have you seen all the music videos that people have made to Vienna Teng songs? Before she actually started putting up stuff on youtube, those are all I would ever find and I was amazed at how many Anime fans new of her (I mean for me it was like "Wow, there are tons of people like me out there").

my best friend gave me "recessional" on a mix cd last year, and at first i thought it was boring (don't shoot! i didn't really know anything about vienna and her music at that point), but once i really started to listen to it and found out it was my friend's favorite vienna song, it really started to resonate with me. it ended up summing up some complicated feelings about a certain person, and the striptease-in-reverse structure of the song ended up sort of applying to my relationship with that person - i imagined the relationship from the romantic end, and eventually worked my way around to friendship. i also sang snippets of the song for a dance/embodied text project for an art class i took, and the song as a whole was really my inspiration for the project. it no longer really applies, but i still love the song.

The Tower imagery:

"someone who reaches out to my weakness
and won't let go"

- mid-femur fracture -- pull traction and don't let go!

"where is the one who can change me/ where is the one"

- baby crying and waiting for someone to "change" him

The first actual song that freaked me out in the whole "Woah! What the heck!? I know exactly whats happening in this song!" way was Unwritten Letter Number One.

The very night before I heard that song i had the weirdest dream of me driving a car (Im 14, so you can see why thats odd) in the middle of the night. FOr some reason, I was in a totally unknown town, in a random state. ANd I pulled over and found my friend living in a house there... And than weird stuff happened (We broke into a house for some reason) And when i was driving away I drove into a lake and drowned.

Well... Anyway, i heard the song and went "WOAH!" and listened to it endlessly xD

And than Thw Tower was the second, because, well, i was very seclusive before Vienna (Pre-Vienna Era). And... YEah. She helped me develop myself into a person XD

Once when I couldn't yet fully remember the melody of Recessional, I felt a suffocating silence in the atmosphere of the song, along with the woods on the album cover, and as I walk in my quiet campus under a cloudy sky, I felt I'm trapped in some kind of eternity...

And, to some extent I'm "the tower" in my dorm... But Vienna wouldn't leave a mess in the room and wait for her kind-hearted roommate to clean up, I think!
