Now Three: Your top 3 songs from each album

Postby murlough23 » Fri Nov 10, 2006 12:10 am

I thought I'd take an unscientific poll here, and see which of Vienna's songs are most popular among us at this point. (I guess it'll only work in terms of aggregating the data if enough people respond, but either way it could make for interesting discussion). Here are mine; as others are added, I'll keep a tally.

Waking Hour: Between, The Tower, Momentum
Warm Strangers: Harbor, Hope on Fire, Mission Street
Dreaming Through the Noise: I Don't Feel So Well, Ponchartrain, Love Turns 40

TOTAL VOTES:

WAKING HOUR
Momentum - 8
Eric's Song - 7
Lullabye for a Stormy Night - 7
Gravity - 6
The Tower - 6
Between - 5
Daughter - 5
Decade and One - 5
Soon Love Soon - 4
Drought - 3
Enough to Go By - 3
Unwritten Letter #1 - 3
Say Uncle - 1

WARM STRANGERS
Harbor - 11
Homecoming (Walter's Song) - 11
My Medea - 9
Shasta (Carrie's Song) - 9
Mission Street - 8
The Atheist Christmas Carol - 4
Passage - 4
Shine - 3
Anna Rose - 2
Feather Moon - 2
Green Island Serenade - 2
Hope on Fire - 1

DREAMING THROUGH THE NOISE
Recessional - 14
Blue Caravan - 9
City Hall - 8
I Don't Feel So Well - 7
Now Three - 7
Nothing Without You - 6
Whatever You Want - 5
Ponchartrain - 4
1Br/1Ba - 2
Love Turns 40 - 2
Transcontinental, 1:30 AM - 2

Warm Strangers: Green Island Serenade (if this doesn't count then Homecoming, The Atheist Christmas Carol, Mission Street
DTTN: Nothing Without You, Recessional, Transcontinental 1:30 AM

Yes, and if everyone could list only three, that'd make the tallying easier later on.

"Green Island Serenade" does count.

Waking Hour: Unwritten Letter No. 1, Gravity, Lullabye for a Stormy Night
Warm Strangers: Harbor, Homecoming, Shasta
Dreaming Through the Noise: Now Three, Whatever You Want, 1BR/1BA

So hard to narrow down to three! I find myself gravitating to those that are my favorite to hear live. Probably the only one on the list that didn't turn out this way was Lullabye, which easily could have been replaced on by Daughter or Enough to Go By.

I would have to say that my favorites would have to start with #1 The Tower #2 Nothing Without You and #3 Enough To Go By. Of course I would really like to vote for all of the songs since my favorite changes with my mood.
Ask what my favorite 36 studio songs are and I can answer that question much easier. :D

That's only two from the first album and one from the third. I meant pick three from each.

Ask me on a different day, and my answers could be very different - well, some of them at least. But at this particular moment:

WH: Momentum, Eric's Song, Lullabye for a Stormy Night
WS: Harbor, My Medea, Passage
DTTN: Blue Caravan, City Hall, Recessional

Waking Hour: Between, The Tower, Eric's Song

Warm Strangers: Shine, Shasta, Homecoming

Dreaming Through the Noise: Blue Caravan, City Hall, Recessional

Difficult to narrow it down to three choices for the first two albums, I ended up looking at the combination of my ratings and my play counts in iTunes (since most of my playlists are combinations of ratings and play counts or "not played in x days" or the like). I'm not sure I would have chosen these songs by any other method, but I tend not to play songs I don't like as much, so all in all it's probably a pretty accurate indication of how I regard the songs.
