Vienna recently got mentioned in the New York Times entertainment listings when a classical chamber ensemble did its version of Pontchartrain in concert, prompting me to Google the Times for prior mentions. In addition to concert listings going back years as "pop", "folk", "classical", and "popular song" (and combinations thereof) there was a link to a review of a movie in which Transcontinental 1:30 AM appeared in the soundtrack. Didn't know about that. The movie, a 2008 Argentinian production called
The Burning Plain, starred Charlize Theron and unfortunately did not review well--nothing to do with the soundtrack. Of course I don't know how much of the song they used (sometimes only a snippet appears in a scene), but certainly Transcontinental, one of my favorite un-heard-in-concert songs of Vienna's, seems like a great mood-establishing piece for a film.
