Waaaait a minute! You're telling me that those two songs were written by the same person?! ~clunk~ (sound of me hitting the floor)

Holy moly!

Absolutely. Altho he's very "country" now Chip Taylor's originally from Mt. Vernon, NY, just north of NYC, and his early years in music were spent as a songwriter in an office in the Theater District in Manhattan (could have been the famous Brill Building, or another). He told a story about meeting another young songwriter there by the name of Hendrix, who later went on to a brief but spectacular performing career--and performed Wild Thing regularly, after The Troggs made a hit of it. He and Carrie Rodriguez included both songs in their set when I saw them together last year, although passed through the "country" filter, Wild Thing came out more like Waald Thaang.

I've heard White Light at the 99 cent store and Gravity at Lucky's.

Wow, I haven't been on this forum in a while...

I still haven't heard a Vienna song in a store  but my friend Megan heard Harbor at Walgreen's yesterday. That's what I get for shopping at CVS. Is this the first NYC-area "sighting" of a VT song on "muzak"?

Heard the wife singing Mission Street in the shower. Humm... should I jump in there with the guitar?

No; take the guitar off before jumping in. The water would damage it.
