Last Snowfall has me going in circles...

Postby Steve » Mon Apr 13, 2009 12:41 pm

While I really like some IT songs and others have yet to grow on me, I have to say that Last Snowfall for me is worth the price of the whole CD.

Yesterday I was driving with it playing. Partway into a turn I realized my turn signal clicker was in perfect time with the percussion part. I didn't want to finish the turn, it was so perfect!

Of course, I then realized that I could make lots of turns and listen to it again, or I could pretend I was from (fill in state name here) and just drive with my turn signal on all the time and enjoy it, too!

I'm with you, Steve. This one, and White Light, and Augustine, and Radio.... oh, heck, I just can't pick a favorite song off this CD!

Last Snowfall, Antebellum, Kansas, White Light here. And No Gringo. And Radio. Ahhh!!

Funny enough, I had this conversation at Saturday's show. Can't just pick one favorite.

For me it's an undecided tie between No Gringo and St. Stephen's Cross, with Antebellum and Kansas following closely behind. :)

I like so many of them, but Kansas is (currently) the one which most often gets a replay when its turn comes up.

I'd have to say Radio is my favorite, followed by No Gringo, Stray Italian Greyhound, and St. Stephen's Cross. But I agree with everyone else that this album is great and it's truly hard to pick just one favorite.

I tend to go through cycles with the songs... I find that the slower songs of the album, like The Last Snowfall and Watershed strike my fancy late at night, while, during the day when the house is empty, i tend to have Stray Italian Greyhound and White Light playing on the good ol' iHome. This album is truly amazing, and every song is amazing, the only difference from her previous three albums is that while every song is amazing, it's amazing in it's own unique way, where as with her other albums, it's easy to find common ground. This may very well be the black sheep of Vienna's discography, but as they say, life isn't anything without a little spice. And this album is definitely habanero.

I like that. "Definitely Habanero." I agree, each song is very unique in their own ways.

Looks like "Last Snowfall" also has NPR going in circles

I keep to keep hitting the back button when St. Stephen's Cross comes to an end.

In a way it's the most emotional song on the album, moreso than Antebellum or Kansas.

Your turn signal clicks in 5/8 time?

No downbeat, so I guess so! Still surprises me each time I'm listening to Last Snowfall and make a turn!

Maybe you just got sucked into Vienna's looper by accident... :D

It made me laugh.
