"Lullaby for a Stormy Night" in Figure Skating

Postby anw » Tue Nov 18, 2008 2:46 am

Hi, I am new here. You guys need to watch this. The lovely Caroline Zhang used the Lullaby in her skating Exhibition. For people who are not familiar with figure skating, Caroline is a rising star in US ladies figure skating (She is like the next Michelle Kwan) and has incredible spins and spirals. Anyway, Caroline interprets the song so well, just breathtaking!

Wow!!! I think that Caroline Zhang will take the Gold in the next Olympics. So cute! Excellent choice of song as well, but she performed to it perfectly.

wow that was great! Thanks for the link and welcome, ANW! I was
just stoked to see Vienna's song featured at all, let alone performed to
so beautifully!

Hope to see you are around more, here!

Goodness me, that was simply stunning! Her movements were so graceful, almost childlike, and it really complemented the sentiments of the song. Thank you so much for sharing!

I did not see this event on tv so I've just watched the French version on youtube :

Well, Vienna Teng's music has been heard by a part of the French people now.
I'm glad that some artistic creation triggers another artistic efforts like a wavelength of Beauty in this world.

Thumbs up for VT and Caroline Zhang ! You ROCKS !

As was noted last year here, here, and here, Bebe Liang skated to "Lullaby for a Stormy Night" as an exhibition at the 2007 US Nationals. Last time I looked, you could find it on youtube.

I believe that s a montage clip mixed by a fan. The real song used in that particular Ex. was "you raise me up" by Celtic woman

Thanks anw for your investigation.
I was myself surprised by the fact that the choregraphy in some ways did not match the music put in that vid.

Have a nice day !
