Sid Arthur

Postby micro » Fri Oct 10, 2008 4:29 am

Saw the mention of "Sid Arthur" on another post and remembered that Vienna was writing the music for a play of that name, noted either in a scrapbook and/or in a tweet on twitter. Always wondered what happened to it. A google search turned up a few links, this oneand this one among them. Still don't know what the status is of the play though.

Those in the SF Bay area may be interested in checking out a reading of the musical Vienna is working on.

Are we ever going to be able to hear this music, do you think? -Hopeful look of desperation-

I don't know if the whole thing would ever be available for everyone to hear, but the play's author has just launched her site and you can hear some songs now.

Coming up is a 20 minute excerpt at the San Francisco Theater Festival (click Main Program and then search for Sid Arthur to see the listing). It's Sunday, July 26 at 2:15 pm in the Goldman Hall of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, 736 Mission Street. I don't know for sure yet if Vienna will be there or if it's just a reading.

Thanks for the heads-up on the audio samples, Michele! I'm listening to the first clip now and I'm excited to hear more Viennatunes. :D

Vienna will indeed be around on Sunday for the event.

Get there early and check out Wicked at 1PM at the Waterfall! There should be plenty of time to mosey over to the museum afterward and still get a good seat.
