From what I've heard of the new album, it's definitely different from the first 3 in its own unique way. A lot of the songs are either more upbeat or are simply faster, and oddly enough, I'm having trouble classifying the music so far under any particular genre or hybrid of genres. While the first and second album were considered classical/pop/folk, with the third being jazz/folk, the fourth... I don't think a genre or word exists yet to describe it. :D But perhaps that's only my musical ignorance showing.

I shall call it Tenganiese.

Quite a suitable and sexy name, no?

Update to a previous post in this thread:

so candidates for the new cd include the following 13 songs?

White Light
Kansas
Antebellum
Grandmother Song
The Last Snowfall
Stray Italian Greyhound
No Gringo
Augustine
Olive Tree
Radio
In Another Life
Watershed
and (from today's scrapbook posting)
St. Stephen’s Cross

And those math or science geeks in the audience will recognize the summation in the title of the scrapbook posting.

Every new post she makes just creates more excitement in me about the new album. Gosh, and along with the photos it's enough to give one a slight wake up from the four hours of sleep a night trend. Got a great kick out of those pots and pans, too. I just had this vision of Stomp performing with Vienna...'Cept I don't know if she'd be up for physical theatre.

I believe we've been notified of the length of the album in her Twitter.

"Currently Vienna...has 9 songs mixed, 5 to go."

14 songs, i presume.

That would be a real treat. Who could say no to 14? I wonder if there'll be any bonus tracks and such...But of course we can't find that out unless someone here is a secret agent.

I'm secretly hoping that In the Creases will be smuggled in by Alex as a hidden bonus track. ;)

It would start a pattern of sorts :P

WH: No bonus
WS: Bonus
DTTN: No bonus
New album: Bonus

XD But still, 14 songs is quite a list. Also, i heard theyre all much more upbeat than the other albums. Vienna dancing music, anyone?

What about some remixes?

Oh. Yes.

I'm still hoping for it to be titled Sorority Serenades.

My favourite "working title" is still Inconvenient Fireworks.

But Vienna is sure to surprise us all with an even better title than any of us could dream up - whatever the noise.

Oh. Yes.

I don't know whether I should admit that I find that the mix of techno + Vienna Teng to actually work. I remember reading a while back that someone asked to do a techno remix of "Daughter" and I went "Hey, that might work, oddly enough, in a really twisted sort of way!"

...only in my head, though.

Regarding names: I think I'll be liable to call her 4th album The Vienna Files...

Now I quite like that, seeing as how 1337 + 1 Viennaphiles are already registered here on the Forum ;)

EDIT: More correctly, +1 should be omitted from the above expression, since
    {Forum members} = {Vienna, {Viennaphiles}}
