How many times have you seen Vienna live?

Postby Digital » Sun Dec 03, 2006 5:50 pm

So I was wondering, how many times have some of you seen Vienna live? I' m guessing the numbers might turn out to be pretty big.

Personally, I can remember six shows, but I might be forgetting one (or more for that matter).

Oh, if only I could vote "over 100" and have it be true. :( I've only seen her once (at Schuba's in Chi-town), but hopefully I'll get to see her a second time in Philly.

Check the tour page archives.

http://viennateng.com/tour/index.php?st ... 03&open=no

There are currently 447 shows listed there, dating back to January of 2003.

I'm guessing that Paul hasn't responded to the poll yet, as he has to be up over 100 by now. The lucky dog. :D

My personal total is only four. But my wife and I have decided to make the trip to Philly. So #5 should be pretty special (not that the previous ones weren't also, of course).

Sixteen for me, so far. Number 17 is coming up later this month, at The Independent in San Francisco. Oh, the advantages of living in the Bay Area ... :)

The first time I heard her live was at a small music store in Berkeley back in June of '03. I remember thinking, "Why is someone so brilliant performing in a dinky little place like this?"

The days of the in-store performances are gone now. Goodness knows, it's for the best. The acoustics were terrible, there was always some idiot running an espresso machine, and she probably made just enough money to pay for parking.

But there was a relaxed, almost living-room informality in those performances that we don't get in the larger venues. I feel fortunate to have attended a couple of them.

Ok, who voted in the over 100 category? Was it Paul or Michele/Erik? That is pretty impressive. I'm still in the 1-10 category. :) ~G

I was packing for the trip home from NYC (shows 139-142) and saw the poll when I checked The Forum. I voted so I could see the results, but facing another 800 mile overnight drive, I skipped posting a message.

I lost count back around 20. I'm guessing I'm up in the 30's by now....

Dang it - 10, on the nose! But I do have tickets to Number 11! And actually, I'm keeping my fingers crossed to make that one Number 12 instead... 8)

Sadly, none yet. My friends at Calvin made a point to tease me about not being able to go when she performed there recently. :(

I'm guessing > 50 since I went to probably 15-20 shows in 2001 alone, but I was only crazy enough to keep going back for more, and not crazy-organized enough to keep track of them all. :)

I really tried hard to count but I just can't get past zero. Hopefully, VT gets to visit the Philippines or I get to visit the US in the future.

Twice for me, first was in Nov 2005 when she headlined at The Triple Door in Seattle and the second was her stop in Seattle in July 2006 on the co-bill with Duncan Sheik. I missed her stop in Seattle on the Madeleine Peyroux tour but I do have the Feb 2007 stop on the Glen Phillips tour squarely in my sights.
