I am in a tour van with Miss Vienna Teng cruising eastbound on I-80 on our way to New York City. We left Oakland at around 10:30pm and hope to be in Reno by 3am.

Wireless cards rock! I hope to post regular updates while we're travelling.

We began the journey by getting onto the Bay Bridge toward San Francisco -- on accident. I thought it was a good way to start.

You can leave us messages here on the forum. I'll read them out loud to her when she's in the driver's seat.

Would you believe it - there was actually more chocolate than a sane person
could eat (not that I'm a particularly sane person... :>)

Hey, Scott! Vienna says that she thinks it would be a lot of fun to do a trip to Hawaii. You know, a combo mini-tour, dive trip, and all around fun fest.

We're 90 miles from Reno now. Driving at night is the best -- no traffic.

Have fun on the tour! Are you her tour photographer, or will you be parting ways with her in NY? When I saw Schuyler Fisk and Joshua Radin, they had a tour photographer with them. That would be so fun! ;-)

At least you'll be the road trip photographer.

When you guys stop for a break, show her these pix from the Vienna Forum dinner (with my family, tanthalas, Michele, and Erik) that she missed. Thanks to tanthalas for being the gracious host.

hey eric, i assume you're posting when she's driving also...there's currently a law proposed in nj to ban textmessaging while driving because it's as or more dangerous than talking on the cellphone. you would think that people would realize this.

i unfortunately will miss vienna in nyc as i'm heading in the opposite direction as you, but i am looking forward to the following week in sellersville. i should have another shell ready by then.

the weather's been weird on this coast. we hit 82 today and tomorrow we'll be back to the 50's. hope the two of you don't get sick easily because this is the type of weather that gets me sick....that and the fact that my students are driving me nuts.

ok, safe driving. you should take a picture of vienna at every state sign you see.

Eric, keep us posted with ETAs at cities along the way. Vienna's fans can line the route and wave those brightly colored socks they bought to alleviate the sock crisis revealed in your photo-journalism expose! :lol:

meh, sorry. It looks like there are mods to let you post html in phpBB but I don't have time to do it today! It's too bad modifying phpBB's behavior is such a pain in the @$$.

heheh. Hey, Michele. I downloaded the videos while I was in the car, and when we got to the hotel I put the video together. It look like 30 minutes or so of editing, plus maybe another 30 minutes of encoding and testing. I couldn't upload last night, so I did it when I woke up this morning.

I'm trying to shoot the stuff so each clip can more or less be dropped into a project.

Today, we have Vienna shooting what she is calling "B Roll" stuff, so it should be more interesting.

We're at a gas station about 180 miles from Salt Lake City.
