Last night was a pretty special creature. Are you Listening: The piano didn't seem to want to give Alex any sustain so he apologized to it saying "Those other pianos meant nothing to me-it's you I want...Kawai..." I thought he was saying "kawaii" which is the Japanese term for cu...

Normally when it comes to these shows I'm excited for the whole week leading up to it, which sometimes even induces concert dreams, lol. I'd been so caught up in things and stressed out lately though so even though I knew it was coming it wasn't really in the forefront of my mind-it was like I didn'...

Ah! I wish I'd known you were there, Klaorman! I don't think we've ever met yet before! But I saw your photoshoot with Vienna and some of your youtube stuff.

A great time at The Independent! Once again, I brought along Heather The World's Most Patient Piano Teacher. The highlight of her night - during the first set, she shouted "WE LOVE YOU ALEX!" He answered, "I love you, too." Somehow, I don't think Heather will get much work done ...

Re: The Independent San Francisco December 20, 2009

While I'm really surprised that no one else posted, I will first post the setlists and since I'm tired, maybe I'll get to the the long random discussion about the history and evolution of Vienna Teng and Alex Wong's songs to where they are today in a later post. One of these days, I'm going to beat...

I still keep hearing Dina and Marika singing in the back of my head during that part of the song every time, so when Vienna played it on the Nord, some part of my head was jumping up and down and running in circles (at the same time, of course). I always hear those harmonies in my head, too! For th...

Re: Red Rock Coffee Company December 19, 200... err... 9?

-HELP IS ON THE WAY!!!!! SOOOOOO GLAD ALEX AND VIENNA PLAYED THE SONG THAT MADE VIENNA FIRST NOTICE ALEX!!!! That song usually makes me sad, but they sang oh so beautifully. I sang the harmony part that Devon does in the original recording. Probably not loud enough for everyone to hear but I tried ...

If you're transcribing the strings for Antebellum, you're officially the god of music transcribing and I love you. Clearly my work is (way too?) ambitious as it is! But fortunately I got the original string (and woodwind and brass) scores from Vienna and Alex, so I was able to just typeset and edit...
