Re: Paul/The Man in Blue

Indeed, very sad. He was always a pleasure to talk to at the shows.

Enough to Go By because its one of my favorites by her, and Freebird because... well, its FREEBIRD Freebird has been requested at concerts before... She said she thought she should learn it one day just so she could play it. Me, well I'll stick to requesting Signal Fire until I hear it live :)

Isn't it amazing? She's never played it when I've requested it at a concert :(

OK, I'm just coming out of a 2 week paper submission induced fog, so I'll just shut down the poll now and report on the results. No, I'm not a stats person, but somehow it seems appropriate mixing a ranking method which involves topological sorts of directed graphs with an artists who could have gon...

So watching this as the votes come in, it seems you are not alone. There has been little movement in the top 4 to 6 or so, and everything else has been shifting all around.

It is also interesting how heavy the top of the list is with Waking Hour songs.

Indeed no one said it was remotely easy. I couldn't do more than lump stuff into 4 groups. And where to draw those lines was hard (except for the last set, which wasn't too hard). As for last.fm, it's list doesn't match the 5 votes I have so far. They arguably have a better sample :). Ooh, and I'm a...

There's no way I'd be able to rank the songs in any order, since the ordering keeps changing on a daily basis... Yea, I had to organize songs into 3 big groups, then I sub divided each into about 5 songs. So I think I only had about 6 groups in my final ranking (where there is no order between song...

The most accurate (perhaps) poll yet of published songs

So I've been meaning to write a poll that was more than a choose your favorite song type of a thing. So after firing up emacs, I decided that was too much trouble and just used an existing script. Anyway, please rank all album songs . I hope this will be the most interesting poll of this type yet!

Welcome arcsol. In case you don't know about them, check out the live recordings on archive.org. Great stuff especially when you are off the tour path by a few miles :)

2) I just refinished a piano. It had a couple coats of paint on it. [url]http://www.lenharth.org/~andrewl/Pictures/Piano%20Saga/[url]. This was a lot of fun. Wow- that looks like a lot of work and the result looks great! How long did it take you? I see you got a little help from Yoda, though. :> Th...

Well, I'm a bit late to this thread, I've been busy with: 1) being a grad student (CS, 21st grade and counting). This should really shouldn't allow room for anything else on this list, but we have to stay sane. Oh, and to all you mac users, keep up the good work, Apple is adopting my group's compile...

Wow, what a question. I think I will have to line up in the "certain lines" camp. Though there are a few songs that really hit home. Whole songs: Drought - This is so hard to listen to, yet I do, again and again. Not when I have writers block though. It is one of those songs that is so gen...

I must amend my old response to:
Cover:
Lakes of Canada (Innocence mission)

Though Latter Days (Over the Rhine) would be good if she could make a nice piano part for it, but it is less amenable to her style.
