Much Too Silly

Doing my Graham Chapman impression, "Enough with the hobbit jokes. This is much too silly." But seriously, a great venue for VT to play in SF would be the Great Amercan Music Hall . It's the best small venue in the City. The Fillmore would be great too, though I'm not sure if there are enough fans t...

What'd you folks think of the show?

Didn't make it... couldn't find parking and the big line were too much of a deterrent.

On a positive note, I'm glad there was a big line for Vienna!

Chinese Songs

Perhaps if I lend Vienna my collection of Kelly Chen, Sammi Cheng, Aaron Kwok, Jasmine Leong, Faye Wong, Miriam Yeung, and Joey Yung CD's she'll sing more Canto and Mandarin tunes? :D

Independent, Friday August 26th, San Francisco

Evening,
Wonder how long VT's opening act will play... an couple of amigos of mine offered me a free ticket to join them at the Giants game at 7:15PM. Would have to take a taxi from the ballpark to Divisidero.

I have this image of Vienna, in the Homicidal Barber sketch from Monty Python, singing, "All I want is to be your barber..." :D

Of course, that sketch is the prelude to The Lumberjack Song! :D

Re: KTEH performance

We all want to see Vienna succeed, to achieve that takes more than music talent, it takes wise business decisions. You raise good points about the music business, flawed thing that it is. I don't dispute them. We're all human; image sells. I like eye candy attached to my ear candy, too. Of course I...

Zanker & Tasman

Today's a day that I'm sure Vienna is glad she no longer works at the Cisco campus. It stinks out here! Not sure if it's from the construction crews digging at Zanker and Tasman roads or if it's some nearby landfill... but it smells like a dump for miles around. Nearly lost my appetite when I went o...

Re: KTEH performance

As far a Vienna dolling herself up for shows, that is a bit sexist. Look at all the ugly male performers we have. And not all female singers are supermodels either. It's about the music. When appearance is more important than the music, you're going down the wrong path. This is about the music busi...

KTEH Performance

Good evening, Honestly... as my friend who does photo shoots for Levi's said, Vienna really needs a stylist. Having seen her in person a couple of times, I can vouch that she is attractive, but for whatever reasons, doesn't put much effort into maximizing her appearance. While that's fine for her pe...

Vienna's Autograph Sessions

Good afternoon, One thing that amuses me when I've waited in line on two seperate occasions to get my copies of Waking Hour and Warm Strangers autographed is hearing a succession of people tell Vienna things like: 1. Hey, I was at Stanford... 2. Hey, I know a person that knows a person that knows......

Whoever is Damien Rice's publisher, they spent a LOT of money marketing him in 2004.

I saw Damien Rice posters on buses, billboards, just about freakin' everywhere. I think I even saw a Damien Rice CD commercial at the movie theater, when they play commercials before the film starts.

Also got amused by the fact that Vienna took a ballroom dancing class. I have viewed many pictures of Vienna, but never pictured her in wearing a White hoop dress, with giant puffy sleeves,  with a whale bone corset, and a parasol, drinking a mint julip, and dancing on a marbled black and whit...

You have to be kidding. No one I know in the SF Bay Area Chinese community said they liked House of Flying Daggers . At most, people thought it was okay. Even my GF's parents thought it was outright lousy. The criticisms generally came in the form of it being too unrealistic or too artsy. For exampl...
