Hello my Friend

Dear Vienna, It is always great to hear about your concerts. Recently, Man in Blue sent Tim and I your concerts in California and Philadelphia. They arrived on the day of Timothy's birthday, 12-11. It was a great surprize and your writing was beautiful, just like you. Jazzfrac knew a great Musician ...

885 Greatest Albums

Just thought some people may be interested in this. My local (and favorite) college radio station WXPN is having a poll to come up with the 885 Greatest Albums of all time (any genre). Each individual gets to pick ten albums that they think should be on the list, for whatever reason. Then they will ...

VT's lyrics to all her studio recordings can be found right here on the website in the discography section. http://viennateng.com/discography First go to the album it was released on (all yours will come up immediately, as the site opens with the Warm Strangers album), then click on the song title f...

I wanted to bring this back up to the top for a couple reasons. First the group currently has 9 members. When one more person joins, Join HERE the site will start calculating charts for us, based on our most played artists, most-played songs etc... for everyone we listen to. Its pretty neat because ...

Estonia

Not the country  - Vienna's side-project band with Jim Batcho (drums), John Given (guitar), and Nate Query (bass). Anyway it just occured to me that they may have gotten the name from the Marillion song "Estonia" - now that Vienna has opened up for them it seems to fit. Just wondering if anyone...

I think its just an A Major chord. It may sound slightly darker than most major chords because I don't think it uses the E or 5th as its top (ringing) note however the E is still in there. Then again, I'm just using my ear and a guitar - I need an oscilloscope to really figure out what notes are bei...

I found this interesting interpretation via a Google search: It seems that while "crying uncle" is today regarded as an Americanism, its origins go all the way back to the Roman Empire. Roman children, when beset by a bully, would be forced to say "Patrue, mi Patruissimo," or "Uncle, my best Uncle,"...

Thanks Holly - Thats really nice - not just the typical "dwelling on changing from computer to singing career" interview. For a while I was getting bored with reading all the interviews on Vienna, because they all seemed to say the same thing, but I like yours - its quite different. Great job! I als...

If you're referring to the CD recordings, there are lots of harmony parts in the song "Homecoming" - the CD liner notes credit David Henry for vocals on that track as well as "Hope on Fire". When she was/is on tour with her string trio Marika and or Alan would often help out with background vocals o...

I don't mean to speak for Scot but his warmstrangers.com site has a place where you can submit setlists, reviews, and photos and he will post them when he gets a chance.

I hang out at WXPNs forum, often answering questions like what's that song they just played with such and such lyrics, and I always take every chance I can to spread the love for Vienna
