Re: Paul/The Man in Blue

Very sad news. I didn't meet Paul until a string of shows in late 2009, but we were undoubtedly in the same room for several shows before that. Rest in peace, Man in Blue.

Can't add too much to what Fred wrote, but here are some of my notes: It was great to see Fred before the show! I was a little worried that we wouldn't have a chance to catch up, but he spotted me at the bar, where I was talking a gentleman with an iPad (who happened to be the public address announc...

Fred - are you planning to attend any upcoming shows? Norfolk CT, perhaps? :D

Heard "Harbor" at the grocery store

Today during lunch, I heard "Harbor" played over the speakers at the Stop & Shop grocery store out here on Long Island. For a very brief period, I was the happiest grocery shopper in the State of New York.

Hey, Tom! How was the show? I wish I'd been able to make it. Didja notice Michael Stipe or Fiona Apple in the audience? Can Jeff Daniels actually sing (on a scale of Minnie Driver to Scarlett Johansson)? Alas, I could not go... I was so upset. I'm still hopeful that someone on the forum was able to...

Glad to see that it's "official" - and also happy that it appears to be a duo show with Alex Wong. Looking forward to it!!

Honestly, I do hope you have a good show tomorrow night. I really do. There are signs, however, that it might not be the case, if history is any indication. Why would I say this? Well, I refer you to some tweets posted today from our intrepid travelers, as well as a YouTube video expressing their th...

Re: encore?

After the Kate show Vienna said the sound man was supposed to turn up the house lights and put on music right after the last song...so he must have gotten distracted/forgotten/kidnapped by aliens(?)..hey, it could happen! For a second there, I thought there was going to be a riot. Or, what would pa...

Vienna Teng and Alex Wong made quite a few new fans tonight, including one of the ushers, who had already purchased DTTN by the time I reached the merch table. It was very nice to meet Fred (and family) and Folkfan for the first time. Linus and I got to be roadies for Alex after the show, and we hel...

A big thanks to the forum veterans for welcoming me into the fold at Joe's Pub. It was really nice to meet you guys. Highlights for me: - The couches. As Digital mentioned in another post, it was super comfy. With all the electronic gadgets surrounding me on the couch, I felt right at home. - Two se...
