Re: Paul/The Man in Blue

This is such sad news. Paul was by far the nicest and most generous fan - of any artist - I've ever met. Several of my best show memories would have never happened without him, and it's very moving to see that this is true of so many other people here. Rest in peace.

Oh Vienna, I was at the mercy of a term paper during your last two VA concerts and have missed watching you play so much. Thanks for doing this. Next time you play here I can't promise socks or an pie (or a pie filled with socks, even), but probably some so-bad-they're-awesome jokes will be on the t...

Hi Sunrise - I'd definitely suggest calling the venue beforehand and emphasizing the fact that your parents will be with you. Most venues are strict about their age policies, but it's always worth a try. I also wanted to mention that if Union Hall is close to where you live, Vienna has moved to NYC ...

Heh, thanks for the clarification. Even that small a part is enough for me, though - I love that song without shame, and the idea of Vienna and the band rocking out to any part of it is simultaneously gratifying and hilarious. In any case, I would love to hear "Pontchartrain" and "Ari...

Oh, wow. I've already attended a show on this tour, but I may just have to find a way to make room for another one to see a reworked "Gold Digger" interlude. That would be like Christmas.

Great setlists. Thanks for posting!

If you had the chance to pick anyone's brain (let's say for 10 questions), who would it be?

Also, if you could cover a hip-hop song, which one would you choose?

Welcome back! :D Hope the trip went well.

I can't be sure, but the shows currently listed in her tour page in April (starting Apr. 3) are under the heading Spring 2007 National Tour. She's opening for Glen Phillips for a couple of dates in February, but it's a safe bet that a show in April is going to be solo. Hope that helps!

I would love to go, but between arranging transportation and selling my soul to pay for everything, I'd have to pull an infinite number of strings to get a trip to Philly to work. Hope those who can make it have a great time.

The first artist that comes to mind is Radiohead. The mood and atmosphere of "Pontchartrain" reminded me right off the bat of "Exit Music (For A Film)." I've also heard strains of "Street Spirit" in the same song. duciee , it's neat that you made the connection to Imoge...
