Australian Bushfires

Not to purposely interrupt the celebratory mood of Vienna's new album release or anything, but I just can't stop thinking about the bushfires that have wiped out entire communities and homes, not to mention the lives of at least 200 people. The firestorm itself, when started, becomes impossible to s...

Thanks for the links and insights, Michele, roofboy and Elmira. The pictures do have a haunting beauty to it, and I think Vienna has captured that very well in her song. Also, Elmira, you mentioned how you think the song might be referring to Kansas's economics--does anyone else have any ideas about...

Wow, thanks for all of these links! I've really longed to hear what Kansas sounded like with just the piano, and I think I prefer it over the CD version... XD

It's a [post] breakup song, and then some more than that too. (at least to me, that is) Yah, that's what I think too... I remember lots of people have talked about how much they loved this song and I must admit I was somewhat disappointed when I first listened to it on the album (probably because I...

dbeattie, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of the hard work you've been doing... I've never had a good ear (which pretty much renders me useless as a musician), and I've always been very fond of Vienna's music, particularly her piano parts. It still boggles my mind to think...

schizoid_man: Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :)

There are so many things I want to say about the new album, but I'm refraining at the moment because I don't want to post up any spoilers... not being able to rant about these songs is taking more effort than I thought...

Oh, how embarrassing... XD

In my defence, it was ridiculously late and I had been listening to Vienna all day. :D

I've used http://dreamhost.com/ for about three or four years now, and I've been really happy with their service. I also realise that I don't actually use as much of the space and bandwidth as I'm entitled to, but I suppose it's always better to have a superfluous than a restricting service. Their r...

by any chance do you know how long it takes for stuff to be shipped to some far-flung country across the ocean? say to the Philippines, land of dismal postal service, somewhat crappy foreign CD selections (i mean come on, no VT? no amy seeley? wtf? XD) and masses zombified with pop manure driven do...

I was expecting this song to be a lot more melancholy, given the lyrical content. It sounds like a honky tonk tune (!!!). I wonder what this would sound like with a different rhythm and instrument choice. But I think the seemingly cheery music only makes it more spooky, especially since I think thi...

I know that a lot of music distribution on the Internet is illegal, but what if a particular individual has a strong set of values and morals to which they would adhere? If it's difficult to obtain a proper version at a particular time, is it wrong to keep a copy for personal use until it's possible...
