i picture a music video for shasta as one of those travelog/road trip home movies, complete with wobbly camera and overexposed bright colors and sudden cuts, and probably a flashback scene (for the clinic, y'know). i don't think vienna would actually appear in this one - i don't know who carrie is, ...

Shasta is also sad when you know its true meaning, even with its upbeated-ness. i don't think shasta is sad...it's about handling a difficult situation, but i think the refrain is the basic message of the song - "so far, so good." you get through things a bit at a time, and everything wil...

passage is definitely really sad, but it's also hopeful. i think i would go with my medea, though maybe that's more despair than sadness.

I hear itunes is either a really good program or overrated...hmmm. i would be on the "really good program" side of the debate. i like the organizational scheme and user interface, but then i'm a mac girl myself, so i freely admit i'm biased. the few times i've tried to use windows media p...

i heard her play it at a solo concert at williams (i think she said it was the first time she'd played it in concert, perhaps) and adored it. i still love the version my friend recorded at the music festival in michigan last week, but i am skeptical of alex wong singing in it. he has a lovely voice ...

so, to depart from the actual subject of this thread (i'm woefully uneducated in the realm of classical music) to ask a question about the general topic: i heard "in another life" a few months ago at the williams concert, and then heard a recording of it my friend played me from the music ...

she made the dedication! and did an amazing job with it. my friend played me the recording from the concert. i am so incredibly grateful that vienna is a wonderful person as well as a wonderful artist.

help! question for the "plugged in" folks

so let's say that hypothetically i had a fight with my best friend, who is going to the riverfolk music fest this saturday, and there's no way i can make it there from texas, but i would really, really love it if vienna could sing "recessional" and dedicate it to her from me. is there any ...

You could always use Waking Hour (the song) as a processional.

i feel very ignorant, but...there's a song called waking hour? i thought that was just the album name.[/quote]

this was my first vienna show ever and it was incredible. i feel so lucky that i got to see her up close and personal instead of a big concert hall - it was truly perfect. she was so nice - she didn't end the concert with "soon love soon", but one of my friends asked and she sang it with u...

Vienna Teng is at this very moment writing answers to some of the Q&A questions. (We're sitting at a Chinese restaurant in Oakland's Chinatown.) If this isn't related enough to inline into this thread, one of the moderators can remove it. :) http://echeng.com/journal/images/misc/echeng080101_01...
